Why do the cheeks need a unique filler like VOLUMA?
While all fillers work to help restore facial volume, most are made to work in small areas, such as the nasolabial folds or lips, to help smooth out lines and wrinkles or add plumpness. The structure of the hyaluronic acid particles in VOLUMA are structured to be injected more deeply beneath the skin, which helps to yield optimal lift and fullness in a larger area such as the cheeks.
What does VOLUMA treatment feel like?
Most patients describe feeling a “pinch” along with pressure during treatment, but find this very tolerable. VOLUMA is prepared with a small amount of lidocaine added; this helps to numb the area slightly and keep you comfortable during treatment. Temporary side effects such as redness, tenderness, or minor bruising at the injection site are most common, but these are typically mild and subside within the first two weeks.
