Male Eyelid & Brow Lift Options
Look more youthful & vibrant…just like you feel
Have you ever thought about how big a role your eyes play in your day-to-day interactions? Your eyes say as much about you as your words. A sagging, heavily furrowed brow or puffy, drooping eyelids can falsely communicate a tired, angry or worried appearance, even when you feel healthy and energetic.
There’s no need to accept an appearance that isn’t really “you.” Performed separately or in conjunction with one another, brow lift and eyelid surgery can lift sagging features to rejuvenate the upper one-third of the face and restore a naturally relaxed, vibrant appearance and let you express your naturally attractive confidence.
Male Eyelid Surgery Options
Men have unique concerns when it comes to aging eyelids. Since a man’s upper eyelid is naturally thicker and fuller, male eyelid lift surgery typically concentrates on improving the appearance of the lower lids, with only very minor adjustments made to the upper lids if sagging skin is causing visual impairment.
What can male eyelid surgery achieve?
- Remove excess, herniated fat from the lower eyelids to correct under-eye bags
- Remove sagging skin from the upper lids to restore a full range of vision
- Restore a more naturally vibrant, alert appearance
The Blepharoplasty Procedure
Male blepharoplasty is tailored to the goals and anatomy of the individual patient, and no two procedures are exactly alike. Dr. Movassaghi performs eyelid surgery as an outpatient procedure, typically using local anesthesia and intravenous sedation.
For an upper eyelid procedure, a tiny incision is made in the natural crease of the upper eyelid, and excess skin is removed or repositioned to correct sagging. Technique is adjusted to retain the naturally fuller upper eyelid of the male face to avoid feminizing the appearance.
For a lower eyelid procedure, Dr. Movassaghi will make a tiny incision just below the lower lash line, removing or repositioning herniated fat to remove puffiness and achieve a smooth appearance.
Recovery after Blepharoplasty
Our eyelid surgery patients typically enjoy a comfortable and fast recovery. You will be able to go home the same day as surgery, and there are no bandages on the eyes. After resting for a day or so, light activity can be resumed so long as you allow plenty of breaks to rest your eyes. Most patients return to work after about 1 week, and mild bruising and swelling will subside throughout the 10-14 days following surgery.
Brow Lift Surgery Options
While a heavier brow is a characteristically male trait, the thicker skin of the male forehead can begin to sag as we age. This sagging can result in a deeply furrowed brow and a tired, even angry appearance and make you look years older than you actually are. A brow lift repositions a sagging brow, removing excess skin and restoring a more natural, youthful appearance to the area.
What can a brow lift achieve?
- Smooth and rejuvenate a deeply furrowed, aging brow
- Correct a grumpy or overly concerned appearance
- When performed along with eyelid surgery, restore a naturally refreshed appearance that better reflects your health and vitality
The Male Brow Lift Surgery Procedure
Dr. Movassaghi performs brow lift surgery as an outpatient procedure using and endoscope. After making 3 small, slit-like incisions just behind the hairline, he will use a thin endoscope to reach underneath the skin and reposition the underlying connective tissues. This allows for a much less invasive procedure than traditional brow lift surgery, with a faster and easier recovery.
Brow Lift Recovery
Recovery after a brow lift is easy to manage for most of our patients. Pain is typically not an issue; most men experience a “tight” feeling and mild discomfort at most. Mild swelling and bruising is common, which subsides in the days following surgery. Showering is usually permitted after a few days, and many patients are ready to return to work after just one week. Results will last for years and age naturally with you.
